COMMERCIAL SCAFFOLDING PROJECT
In early 2025, AAA Scaffolding UK was appointed to deliver a comprehensive access solution for a large-scale, mixed-use commercial redevelopment project on Burn Lane, Inverurie. The site involved a complete façade renovation of a two-storey office and retail complex, along with roofing and mechanical works. Situated in a high-traffic commercial area, the project required precise planning, phased scaffolding installation, and robust pedestrian safety controls to ensure minimal disruption to the public and surrounding businesses.
PROJECT DETAILS AND SCOPE OF WORK
Our scope of work encompassed full design, installation, and inspection of the scaffolding system. We provided:

The project ran from January to September 2025, with a total scaffolding package value of approximately £95,000 to £110,000, including design, installation, and ongoing inspection.
CHALLENGES AND OUR SOLUTIONS
Operating in a tight urban footprint with limited pavement width and shared access to neighbouring shops required strategic planning. We designed and installed cantilevered scaffolding sections from the first-floor level, maintaining full pedestrian clearance below, and reinforced them with debris netting for added safety. To manage the challenging winter weather, including strong crosswinds and heavy rain, we implemented reinforced bracing and weather-rated fittings. Our team conducted weekly safety inspections to ensure continuous compliance, even in adverse conditions. With multiple trades—roofers, electricians, and cladding installers—working simultaneously, we established a multi-zone access plan using colour-coded tags for each trade, ensuring safe coordination and uninterrupted workflow. Due to local noise restrictions that limited night work, we adapted our schedule to complete primary scaffold erection in early mornings and dismantling between retail hours, preventing disruption to surrounding businesses.
PROJECT OUTCOME AND SUCCESS
We successfully delivered the project on time and within budget, ensuring safe and continuous access for all contractors. Over the nine-month programme, no incidents or safety breaches were reported. Our efficiency contributed to the main contractor completing the refurbishment two weeks ahead of schedule.
